A soldier was killed in the Pakistan army’s firing along the Control Line in the Nowshera sector of the Rajouri District, unnamed officials said Friday.
At around 1530 hours, Pakistan initiated “unprovoked ceasefire violation by firing with small arms and shelling with mortars” along LoC in the Nowshera sector at a local news agency Global News Service (GNS).
Spokesman of the Defense Ministry Jammu Lieutenant Colonel Devinder Anand told a local news agency. He said the Indian Army was “fittingly” retaliating.
Pakistan again initiated unprovoked ceasefire violation in Nowshera sector in the evening at around 1730 hours,” he said, adding, “Own troops reacted strongly to the enemy fire.
Naib Subedar Ravinder was seriously wounded in the incident and later succumbed to his wounds.
