After suffering a head injury during a training session, Pakistan’s hard-hitting batsman Azam Khan has been ruled out of the second and third T20Is against the West Indies, the Pakistan Cricket Board stated on Friday (July 30).
Following an assessment, a neurosurgeon recommended a 24-hour period of observation.
On Monday, he’ll be evaluated again, and a decision on his availability for the fourth and final T20I of the series will be made.
Coach Misbah ul Haq backed Azam, the son of former Pakistan legend Moin Khan, going into the series, believing it was unreasonable to condemn the 22-year-old on the back of just two knocks against England. He is making his debut.
