Srinagar, May 1: In a first, the authorities fired a government teacher on Saturday, citing the need for “state protection.”
The government stated that it had received negative feedback on the teacher’s activities and had decided to dismiss him from his role in the interest of the state’s protection.
The General Administration Department issued a termination order after considering the facts and circumstances of the case.
Based on the information available that the actions of the teacher (Name withheld) at government Middle School Kralpora Kupwara are such as to warrant his dismissal from service,” reads the termination order (GAD).
“The Lieutenant Governor (LG) is satisfied under sub-clause (c) of the proviso to clause (2) of Article 311 of the Constitution of India.
That it is not expedient to conduct an enquiry in the case of the Teacher posted at government Middle School Kralpora in Kupwara district in the interest of the State’s security,” it says.
As a result, the Lieutenant Governor dismisses the teacher with immediate effect,” the statement continued.
