A religious seminary was partially destroyed in a fire that broke out on Thursday afternoon in Khadipora hamlet of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district.

The fire broke out at Darul Uloom Sawa-us-Sabeel Khadipora today afternoon, according to a police official who spoke to the Kashmir News Observer (KNO).

The fire tenders arrived on the scene and extinguished the flames, he said.

According to the official, the third level of the religious seminary was partially destroyed in the fire.

“There were no casualties or injuries recorded in the incident,” a police officer said, adding that the fire was caused by an electrical short.
