Police constable dies on Srinagar-Jammu highway in a traffic accident
A police official said that when it skidded off the road near Rattanbass and rolled down into a 300-ft gorge, a private car was on its way to Jammu from Kashmir.

A police constable died in a road accident on Srinagar-Jammu highway in Banihal area of Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday.
A police official said that a private car was on the way to Jammu from Kashmir when it skidded off the road near Rattanbass and rolled down into a 300ft gorge.
He said the driver of the vehicle, identified as Altaf Ahmad Mir, a resident of Wavoora in Lolab area of Kupwara district in northern Kashmir, was found dead by the police and the local volunteers.
The deceased was working as head constable in the police department, said the official.
