The first ever night flight from Jammu to Delhi was flown by Go First, formerly known as GoAir.
As a result, the flight ‘G8 196’ departed at 8 p.m. on Friday and was operated by an Airbus A320neo.
Go First will conduct scheduled flights from Jammu to Delhi and Srinagar in the future.
“This marks the start of a new era for the union territory, which has long pushed for night flights to improve communication with the rest of the country.”
The airline will fly four times a week from Jammu to Delhi on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, and three times a week from Jammu to Srinagar on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, respectively.
We will continue to improve connections and contribute to J&K’s economic development. Go First is also expanding its network in the Jammu and Kashmir Union Territories by increasing the number of flights between Jammu and Delhi and Srinagar.”
The carrier and the J&K government signed an agreement earlier this year to transport perishable horticultural and farm produce to worldwide markets at cheap rates.
Farmers in the region will benefit from this, since it will help them get the best price for their produce, according to the airline.
